To work on precision manufacturing processes, maintaining existing processes, implementing process improvements and supporting capacity expansion programmes. The role involves equipment assembly test and commission.
•Develop an understanding of our scale manufacturing processes with the aim of providing ongoing support for the processes at our production site in Miskin
•Provide second line support for key manufacturing processes, including process finishing, materials handling, marking and packaging
•Highlight opportunities for process improvements within the EPD product manufacturing processes based at Miskin, and review, plan and implement improvements agreed
•Work with the manufacturing division to increase capacity of EPD product manufacturing processes when required, whether by building new equipment or implementing efficiency improvements
•Time served engineer with a HNC or good degree in a mechanical or mechatronic engineering or a related discipline
•Experienced in working with software controlled systems and complex production machinery
•Knowledge of the design process
•Knowledge of 3D CAD systems beneficial although training can be provided
•Knowledge of engineering materials, machining and assembly methods
•Ability to interpret engineering drawings and requirements, make clear plans, and to communicate them to the team
•Ability to produce clear written documents for plans, design requirements, technical reviews, test reports
•Skill at time management and balancing multiple projects
•Use of drawing management software advantageous
•Use of change management systems
•Use of materials planning systems
•Experience of manual assembly of equipment essential together with some knowledge or appreciation on CNC machining
•Knowledge of electrical systems at a general level
We are looking for a motivated senior engineer with experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes, and hands on skills in fitting and assembly. The individual will be enthusiastic about all aspects of engineering and can work with others to resolve problems and improve processes. The manufacturing techniques involved are complex and unique and as such the successful applicant will need to be keen to learn and build upon an existing foundation of broad engineering knowledge.
As the individual will be working on a remote site, good communication and documentation skills are essential.
