Renishaw's Machine Tool Products Division is currently seeking a Applications Engineer. The primary role is to provide installation, application and training support to our Subsidiary’s, Oems and End users on our range of Machine Tool Scanning Probe hardware and software products.
The position will focus on a variety of markets such as the Far East, Europe and the US, so therefore occasional foreign travel will be expected.
Also as part of a team of engineers there is the requirement to support in-house testing of new technology as well as help develop custom application solutions.
•Support the development and roll-out of specific customer projects performing advanced measurement tasks using CNC machines in manufacturing organizationk closely s
•Worwith the software development organization to provide feedback on customer requirements
•Contribute to Renishaw’s knowledge of on-machine process control applications through involvement in an ongoing test programme
•Proven experience in the installation and repair of complex electromechanical equipment ideally used in a manufacturing environment.
•Experience in the use and programming of CNC controllers such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak or Okuma
•Manufacturing industry experience desirable
•Experience of customer facing situations
•A good understanding of Microsoft Office products
•A full UK driving License
•A full and valid UK or EEA passport
Initial and ongoing training will be provided in Renishaw’s applications to ensure effectiveness in supplying customer support. Ideally, we seek manufacturing industry support experience but we will consider experienced service engineers willing to undergo training in our software applications as supplied to customers.
As the successful applicant, you will be able to work independently but also comfortable in a team environment. Because of the complex nature of the product, you must be able to forge close working relationships with experts from a wide diversity of backgrounds, to both learn and share their own experiences. The work itself will be varied and will range from development testing tasks at our headquarters, to specific customer visits with fixed timetables.
