•To use your problem solving and analytical experiences, with the support of experienced colleagues, to investigate and document system related processes in accordance with Renishaw’s standards.
•To learn how to use, implement, develop and support the IT systems used by the business units within the Renishaw Group, both in the UK and overseas. This currently includes a range of 3rd party application software and in-house developed solutions.
•To work closely with staff across all levels and in many areas of the business to develop a working understanding of the business activities to assist with the provision of appropriate and cost-effective IT solutions that satisfy the business requirements.


Key Requirements

Proven analytical skills are essential for this role, gained either through work experience or a good degree level qualification or equivalent. It is also vital that you have a willingness to learn. The responsibilities above are predominantly IT-based, therefore an interest to pursue a career in this field is mandatory, however particular technical skills can be developed through internal and/or external training.


Desirable Requirements
Experience of data analysis and knowledge of manufacturing business activities, such as supply chain management or sales order processing, would be a distinct advantage. Foreign language skills would be useful when dealing with people from our overseas subsidiary companies, but are not essential for this role. Experience of computer programming is beneficial; however, training courses will be provided for this, as required.


Person specification

The successful applicant will be an effective communicator, self-motivated, organised and capable of managing a diverse workload. The ability to work independently and as part of a project team is also important.
Opportunities for career development and training

Training will be provided to supplement your existing experience as required to effectively carry out the job role. This will cover both technical skills and personal development. The training may take the form of on-the-job training by peers, attendance of internal training courses, and/or attendance of external training courses.
Career progression within the Business Systems department from Trainee Analyst/Programmer is an established path to Analyst/Programmer, which is typically achieved in 2 years, but could be more or less depending on experience and competence.
