Overview

Renishaw’s Engineering Technology Centre (ETC) is responsible for the early stage research and development of innovative new products, systems and solutions that push the boundaries of industrial metrology. We are a small multidisciplinary team so rely on high calibre individuals who can take on a broad range of activities within a project.
We are looking for new team members to assist with current activities and play significant roles in future projects.

Responsibilities

•Contribute to the development of both early stage prototypes and near-production products through designing, building, testing and problem solving.
•Contribute to team brainstorming and ideas sessions, suggesting and evaluating new approaches and helping to implement solutions for new products.
•Liaise with other groups in Renishaw to share knowledge and support research activities.
•Conceive and document ideas for incorporation into patents.

 

Key requirements

 

•Strong mathematical ability.
•Excellent understanding of Engineering fundamentals, preferably including mechanics, electronics and software.
•Degree in an Engineering, Physical Sciences or a Mathematics related discipline from a top tier university.
•The ability to create clear and concise technical documentation.

 

Desirable requirements

 

•Familiar with engineering design and analysis software. E.g Siemens NX, Matlab, python, Zemax, CR5000.
•Understanding of optics and optical system design.
•Experience of test methods and electrical test equipment. E.g use of oscilloscopes and logic analysers.
•Experience of precision metrology.
•Mechanical workshop experience. E.g. turning, milling, modelmaking.
