Reporting to Renishaw’s Group CAE Manager, the successful applicant will act as the primary contact to the Group for driving best practice in relation to requirements management, including training, management, and ongoing enhancement of Renishaw’s preferred Requirements Management (RM) tool, Polarion.
The role is primarily focused on ensuring the RM tool, its associated processes, templates and reports reflect best requirements engineering practices and are readily available to support Renishaw’s R&D activities. This will be achieved by working closely with a wide range of staff across the business, in detail, to understand their objectives and needs. Whilst a Group function, there will be occasions when the role will give the opportunity to get “hands on” to develop a better understanding of project technical needs and requirements.
•Ensure the RM tool is properly maintained so all artefacts necessary to support verification and validation of product and service requirements are traceable and available to assist stakeholders with decision-making at key design and project gate reviews
•Enhance and maintain existing RM processes, templates and reports to ensure the RM tool is used consistently and meets Renishaw’s business needs.
•Define and manage the boundaries between the RM tool and other business tools (e.g. Team Foundation Server / Jira).
•Provide day-to-day support and mentoring to users of the tool by engaging with interested parties to aid interpretation of their requirements into usable input into the RM tool.
•Provide guidance on writing verifiable requirements and systems engineering best practice.
•Good knowledge of systems engineering and requirements management approaches
•Experience in use of requirements management tools e.g. Polarion, DOORS, ARAS etc
•Good knowledge of product requirements capture and control methods, including verification and validation processes
•Confidence communicating and presenting at all levels in the business
•A high level of computer literacy, in particular Microsoft Office
•A full UK driving licence.
•A full, valid passport ensuring unrestricted travel to and from the UK
•An Engineering degree and/or requirements engineering certification e.g. CPRE, CSEP
•At least 3 years in a relevant systems engineering or requirements management role
•Experience in the support and configuration of requirements management tools e.g. Polarion, DOORS, ARAS etc
The successful applicant will be a highly organized self starter with the ability to work strategically as well as operationally. Inquisitive and questioning, the individual in this role will be discreet and diplomatic. Good attention to detail and clear verbal and written communication skills are essential.
The role is based at the New Mills site with occasional travel to sites within the UK. Travel to overseas sites may occasionally be required.
