  • Overview

    Renishaw’s Manufacturing Services Division has a position for a Senior Quality Engineer to provide specialist support for Electronics assembly processes.


    The role involves both proactive work to continuously improve the procedures and working practices for control of assembly processes and materials, and reactive work to provide specialist input to the investigation of defects and ensure that robust solutions are put in place.



    • Provide support to the production engineering, design, purchasing for the resolution of quality issues.
    • Process improvement projects
    • Defect Investigation, using a range of techniques as appropriate (X-Ray, SEM, Micro-section)
    • Assessment of new PCB supply sources.
    • Verification of grey market components.
    • Assessing component suitability for long term storage.
    • Technical support for the assembly training team for hand soldered joints.

    Key requirements

    • HND/Degree qualified in relevant experience working within an electronics manufacturing/ assembly environment.
    • Good understanding of electronics assembly processes, PCB materials and component technologies.
    • Proven aptitude for problem solving and the ability to develop solutions for complex problems.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • A valid UK driving license, as visits to other sites will occasionally be required

    Desirable requirements

    • IPC-A-610 and IPC 7711/7721 certification
    • Six Sigma Green Belt

    The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, interpersonal and organizational skills. They will be capable of planning and managing their work to meet business targets and expectations and be an effective team member with the ability to lead when required.
