  • Overview

    Renishaw is a world leader in inspection probe technology and metrology systems. An opportunity has become available for a Trade Control Officer to join our HQ in Wotton-under-Edge, South Gloucestershire. 

     

    As Trade Control Officer you will be responsible for understanding, applying, and implementing trade control compliance obligations at a Group level. This will include conducting training, acting as a SME for all aspects of trade control, and undertaking audits as necessary.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Support with the development implementation and governance of export and import control process and policy to ensure full alignment with legislation
    • Update and maintain customs tariff information in internal systems to ensure its accuracy
    • First point of contact on all preferential and non-preferential origin queries
    • Maintain accurate records and files containing import and export documents and information that will satisfy the scrutiny of ECJU and HMRC audits
    • Support external audits by HMRC and ECJU
    • Lead our internal import and export control audit Programme
    • Support the relevant business processes to ensure all export control licences are in place and conditions met.
    • Assist in creating and facilitating training programmes to all levels and areas of the business
    • Undertake other duties and tasks that may be allocated that are appropriate to the job

    Key requirements

    • Detailed knowledge of HMRC and ECO related formalities – both imports and exports:
      • Customs Procedure Codes
      • Commodity Codes and tariff classification
      • Inward Processing
      • Export controls
    • Experienced in the development of business policies and process governance within an international business
    • IT Literate and proficient in the use of MS Office suite
    • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and functional staff

    • Communicator with an ability to resolve issues in a pragmatic way
    • Demonstrable practical, hands-on approach to process and regulatory compliance
    • Demonstrable problem-solving skills and attention to detail
