    Joining a dynamic team composed of dedicated and experienced software engineers, this software department is responsible for developing saleable applications that are used to evaluate, calibrate and otherwise enhance motion system performance. In addition, this position will support production through the creation of test rigs and hardware design with the use of prototyping.

    Responsibilities

    The role supports laser and calibration products, which are used to deliver significant cost savings, and improvements in quality for applications using CNC machine tools throughout many industries, which will encompass a variety of activities such as:

    • Helping to develop and support commercial applications
    • Supporting other design disciplines and production in the creation of exciting new products
    • Contributing to the full range of software engineering activities from requirements capture through to maintenance

    Key Requirements

    All applicants are required to have the following:

    • You will hold a degree in one of the following subjects areas; physics, mathematics, computer science, software engineering or systems engineering with demonstrable experience in software development;
    • Demonstrable understanding of programming language: C# and the .Net framework;
    • You will be an innovator and highly motivated;
    • Be keen to keep your skill set up to date and be a clear communicator;
    • Your approach is both logical and accurate; and
    • Be capable of working with and actively contributing to an established scrum team.

    In all circumstances, any lack of experience may be compensated by a keen desire to learn new technologies and to make a valued contribution to a successful multidisciplinary team.

    Although not a prerequisite, it would be desirable if applicants have some experience of the following:

    • Agile development (specifically working as a member of a Scrum team);
    • Firmware development;
    • BDD/TDD;
    • A mathematical background; and
    • Knowledge of the following: C/C+ and WPF.

    Opportunities for development and training

    • With us, you will be given the opportunity to elevate your skills in a highly focused engineering environment where quality is central;
    • Broaden your programming and software development skills in a scrum team environment;
    • Internal and external training courses are available depending on level of experience; and
    • Time will be spent learning about our products and technologies, supporting multiple projects at one given time.

    Please be aware, at interview stage, the selection process will include an informal task to assess individual's technical ability.
