  • Overview

    Renishaw is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join the  Styli and Fixturing Division. This role will focus  on the design of transfer systems, work holding inspection fixturing and air preparation systems. The successful candidate will form part of an integral team responsible for the new product development of these product lines, both within the standard range and tailored customer solutions.




    Custom Fixturing

    • Understand and capture the customer requirements for bespoke fixturing and plate designs.
    • The fixturing requirements will also cross-over to support our transfer line solutions.
    • Working to develop fixturing that will interface between transfer systems and potential automated systems such as robotics. 

    Transfer systems:

    • Be part of a growing team to develop a standard modular range of transfer systems that move parts from customer automated systems or static locations onto metrology equipment

    Air Preparation Systems

    • Design and develop a standard range offering of air preparation systems to be supplied alongside CMM’s and their accessories that customers – both internal and external can select from
    • Create schematics and bespoke designs for customers based on their requirements utilising the standard range 

    In addition, some project management experience would be useful and necessary as part of the role.

    Key requirements

    • Degree in Mechanical engineering, or equivalent
    • Experience in an automation, work piece inspection fixturing or metrology environment.
    • CAD based knowledge preferably with Siemens NX
    • Experience completing technical drawings including GD&T
    • Experience with working on specific projects with clear deliverables within defined timelines 

    Desirbale requirements

    • CNC or manual machining experience
    • Experience developing pneumatic circuits and a good knowledge of pneumatic fundamentals

    Person specification

    The  successful candidate will be self-motivated and  goal driven, methodical and possess great attention to detail. The ability  to work well in a team environment is key as is a proven track record of designing turnkey solutions.
