    Renishaw’s Group Engineering division in Edinburgh are seeking to recruit a Senior Electronic Technician to support industrial metrology and additive manufacturing product design teams with new product development, production equipment and test work.



    • Manufacture of prototype PCBs and electrical/electronic systems
    • Soldering and fault finding on PCBs
    • Performing component sourcing and evaluation
    • Technician work at low voltage and mains voltage

    Key requirements

    • Hold an HNC/HND in an electrical/electronic engineering subject area or equivalent 
    • Demonstrable experience in a relevant role i.e. electronics technician
    • Understanding of electronic principles and calculations i.e. Power Dissipation
    • Some familiarity with CAD/CAM systems
    • Ability to read mechanical, electrical and electronic drawings, and interpret component datasheets
    • Experience of using hand tools for soldering PTH and SMD
    • Proven ability to prioritise activities and problem-solve as and when issues arise
    • Methodical and organised with attention to detail and accuracy
    • Pragmatic and able to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative multi-discipline team


    Desirable requirements

    • Familiarity with Altium and/or Zuken PCB tool chain.
    • Experience using power tools
    • Process improvement experience
    • Full driving license is desirable
