  • Overview

    Renishaw is a recognised leader in spectroscopy products, providing high end spectrometer systems to a global market. The spectroscopy products division is recruiting an Electronics Design/Development Engineer to work with a multi-disciplined and innovative team of engineers on new and current products located at our HQ in New Mills, South Gloucestershire. 

     

    This position will offer you a varied and interesting portfolio of design work, including (though not limited to); the development of low noise analogue, CCD imaging, lasers, motor control systems and power conversion. With a genuine possibility to provide leadership, supervision and mentoring to technicians/engineers.

     

    Responsibilities

    • The design, development and verification of electronic circuits and systems from concept through to final product;
    • Close interaction with other disciplines within the team, including mechanical, software, optics and production engineering;
    • An opportunity to supervise other technicians/engineers.

    Key requirements 

    • A degree in Electronics Engineering (minimum 2:2) or equivalent;
    • Demonstrable knowledge of digital electronics, microprocessor systems and firmware development;
    • Knowledge of low noise analogue electronics and data acquisition;
    • Experience of using EDA and simulation tools such as Altium, Zuken, Spice or similar;
    • Practical skills including soldering, PCB rework, circuit testing and use of test equipment;
    • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills;
    • You will be organised and self-motivated, keen to make a significant contribution to the success of projects within a focused team of likeminded engineers;
    • You will possess an accurate approach to work, with the ability and commitment to meet deadlines while working on several projects simultaneously
